2. Give a shelter dog or cat as a gift, if the recipient is in on the decision and the time and circumstances are right.
3. Foster a shelter pet. There’s no place like a home for the holidays.
4. Volunteer to cuddle, play with and walk shelter dogs.
5. Donate food to a local shelter.
6. Donate toys to a shelter. Wouldn’t those dogs love a new toy to play with, to brighten their holiday?
