This old nativity set is a favorite Christmas decoration. It belonged to my husband’s family when he was growing up. And it’s all the more special because we had the exact same set when I was a little girl. And my favorite part of the creche was always the animals.

Donkey, cow, sheep, camels. Of course, our nativity set has dogs.

I like to think that dogs were there in Bethlehem to welcome the baby Jesus.
